Landscape Construction Foreman

Position: Full-time

Hours: 45 hours/ week

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (weekends optional)

Wage: $25-$40/ hour, based on experience

Location: Dundas, Ontario

Position Overview

We are hiring experienced Landscape Construction Foremen with 3+ years of landscape construction experience who can run job sites independently. The Foreman will oversee crews and be responsible for installing outdoor kitchens, armour stone retaining walls, precast retaining walls, paver walkways, patios, driveways, lighting, sodding, planting, and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the execution of landscape construction projects
  • Plan labour, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day crew activities
  • Maintain safety, quality, and productivity on job sites and in yard/shop
  • Install outdoor kitchens, armour stone retaining walls, precast retaining walls
  • Install paver walkways, patios, driveways
  • Install landscape lighting, sodding, planting, and drainage systems
  • Operate tools, machinery, and construction equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and landscape designs
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately
  • Communicate professionally with clients

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of landscape construction experience
  • Ability to run a job site independently
  • Skilled in hardscape and softscape installations
  • Machine operation experience
  • Valid and clean G driver’s license required
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

Experience is an asset but not requiredLabourers assist with tasks such as material handling, site preparation, grading, planting, sodding, and aiding with interlock and retaining wall installations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with site preparation and cleanup
  • Move and stage materials
  • Support installation of interlock patios, walkways, and driveways
  • Assist with retaining wall construction (armour stone, precast, natural stone)
  • Perform planting, sodding, grading, and softscape tasks
  • Operate basic tools and equipment
  • Maintain safety, quality, and productivity on job sites

Qualifications and Requirements

  • No experience required (experience is an asset)
  • Clean G driver’s licence
  • Own reliable transportation
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of lifting materials and performing manual labour
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commute to Dundas daily

The Landscape Lead Hand plays a key role in supporting the Site Supervisor by helping oversee day-to-day operations on residential and commercial landscape construction sites. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in landscaping, communicates well with team members, and can help keep projects running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Supervisor with daily planning and task direction
  • Lead and support landscape labourers throughout the workday
  • Read and interpret landscape drawings (experience preferred)
  • Assist with the installation of interlock patios, walkways, and driveways
  • Support construction of retaining walls (armour stone, natural stone, precast)
  • Perform grading, base preparation, and site layout tasks
  • Operate skid steers, excavators, compactors, saws, and power tools (experience preferred)
  • Ensure job site safety, cleanliness, quality control, and productivity
  • Communicate material needs and site updates to management
  • Uphold company standards and professionalism with clients and crew members

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of landscape construction experience
  • Valid G driver’s licence
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to operate landscape machinery such as skid steers and mini-excavators
  • Strong understanding of interlock and retaining wall installation
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing manual labour
  • Reliable transportation and punctual work habits
  • Ability to lead a small crew and follow supervisory direction
